brought to you by MomsBloom and Willow Tree Family Center
Bringing a baby earthside is a life-changing experience. Willow Tree is here to support families in this community through this transition. In addition to connecting families to the community through play groups, parenting groups, and support groups, families may also need in-home support.
Mothers may need help with simple things like preparing a meal, reading a story to a sibling or simply rocking the baby so mom can shower and rest. No task is too small, but it makes a difference in the life of the family and the community as a whole. The happier and more stable the family, the healthier our community becomes.
Flourishing Families places trained volunteers in the homes of families with newborns to provide services including:
- Nonjudgmental support and companionship
- Promotion of parent-infant bonding
- Emotional and physical recovery from birth
- Newborn care
- Meal preparation and light household tasks
- Connection to community resources
- Infant feeding support
- Care for siblings
- Parent education
- Soothing and coping skills
Every family gets up to 12 weeks of home visiting services for 1 to 3 hours per week. Every family also gets a screening for postpartum mood disorders.
